Welcome
My name is Luis Sanchez-Abundez, Born in the Sierra de Huautla , a place where his umbilical cord was buried.
Luis Sanchez spent his childhood in this magical mining town. Where the color of the flora
and the forever mystery of the sierras undoubtedly made one of the biggest impresions of his life.
Moving from his hometown at the age of twelve he has never stopped revisiting this village
where he still maintains a humble house. The unforgettable memories of his childhood, family
and friends inspire his paintings.
After playing Pro Football (Soccer) for a couple of years he moved to the Mexican Pacific Coast
with his family to finish school. Luis coaches Squash and Soccer in Pennsylvania and Delaware.
He currently lives in Wilmington, DE.
Artist Statement
Every canvas provides the opportunity to transport to the pristine environment of my childhood.
Revisiting memories of that place full of the abundance of the nature and saturated with sunlight.
A remote agricultural and mining village surrounded by the sierras, pastoral but with vibrating with
the energy of life that provides endless inspirations for my paintings.
